I’m going to San Francisco in 2 weeks, so I’m committing to staying raw raw raw until then. Go team.
So I’ve had a bad couple of weeks.. We’ve had a lot of snow here in NYC and I feel like it just put me in a food rut. I started eating a lot of cooked food, and a lot of starch.
It happens to everyone, so instead of being ashamed of my behavior, I made the decision to share it with you all. Eating this way isn’t always easy. These is pressure from family, friends, and just your general surroundings.
Today is February 1st. It’s officially my birthday month, and these last few weeks have set me back (weight loss wise) from my goal. My birthday is February 28th, and I want to feel amazing and healthy on my birthday.
So I’m committing to 28 days of eating REALLY clean, mostly raw, and try to get closer to my weight loss goal. But I can’t do it alone! I am going to need the support of this community to help get me through.
So I hope you will come with me on this journey of eating healthy. 28 days, is all I’m asking for. Let’s make new habits together!

gwen says: Ugh me too. It’s down to 16º here today with a big ice storm, and I just need to eat and eat to stay warm and full. The cold makes me ravenous. But I’ve set myself up today for success tomorrow- nut cheese is fermenting, chia pudding is in the fridge to mix with some mango in the morning, and I’ve got plenty of greens for smoothies. We can rock this month!

So I had the other half of my grilled cheese for breakfast this morning, but I plan on spending the rest of the day raw. I might just have chia all day, actually. And then tomorrow Davy and I are going for Indian buffet at lunch! Yes.
- green smoothie
- kind bar
- salad w/ avo & cut up fruit
- BACON AND FRIENDS lol. grilled cheese w/ bacon, tomatoes, avocado and sweet potato fries. god bless the weekend.
- green smoothie
- cukes and “hummus”
- chia pudding w/ bananas and cinnamon
It’s just easier to stay home and not go out and do anything when I’m trying to eat raw. I’ve done really well the past three days- only Mary’s crackers and rice wrappers, both of which I “allow”. I was reading a mostly vegan blog the other day and she said she tries to stick to a work-week vegan diet to ensure she gets all her veggies, and usually has eggs and pizza on the weekend, but tries to only eat things that make her body feel good and avoids labels. I think that’s what I’d like to do, too. Avoid labels.
Off to make some chia pudding now!
